A NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY

I hope everyone had a very merry christmas and has an equally joyous new year.

Yes, we have a new addition, well two new additions to our family.....

Yes, you guessed.....

the Charlie and Lola DVD Box Set, belonging to the youngest member of our family.

Charlie and Lola are a great addition.  I am having a lazy Christmas Thursday today, no washing, no housework.... no..... well no nothing!!!  So I am sat at the dining room table, doing some computer things and Charlie and Lola are on in the background.  Little one was watching until a little while ago when she disappeared upstairs with big sister.  It did enter my head to go and switch this DVD off and catch up on the news or the sports news, but alas, I hesitated and Charlie and Lola remain in my lounge.

Ian went out for a walk this morning and bought me a lovely selection of flowers to cheer the house up..  thank you.

I did think this Christmas break would be a little tedious having four days off in total but I suppose it has been a nice rest.  We did venture out on Tuesday to a department store called John Lewis.  You could probably call this a "high end" store with lots of home furnishings, crockery, cutlery, knitting and sewing things, toys etc and quite a nice coffee shop.  It was packed full of ignorant people, of all ages I might add, pushing and shoving, reaching in front of you..... it was well, hellish.....

and finally....... congratulations to the England cricket team on their win down under.....

go to http://www.condemnation2010.blogspot.com/  for more on this.....

MY READERSHIP

Today we found out that Carlos Tevez would be staying at our club, for the foreseeable future anyway.

It is nice to know that Carlos reads my blog.....

open letter to..... CARLOS TEVEZ

Dear Carlos,

Oh Carlos, what a mess.  You came to training today - I saw you on Sky.  One of the backroom staff was play acting with you - no one else was really bothered....  Look at this,

Sheikh  Mansour - owner, yes Carlos, owner of your employers Manchester City Football Club.  He allowed you to leave your last football club and payed you an emormous amount of money to put the ball in the net once in a while.  You might want to be grateful to this man.

Garry Cook and Khaldoon Al Mubarak - these two have been put in control of the day to day running of Manchester City Football Club.  You dont have to like these two.  You dont have to speak to these two.

Roberto Mancini - this is your first line manager, the Manager of Manchester City Football Club.  This man works out the team tactics, with his team of backroom staff and coaches.  He then tells his players how he wants them to play.  This is his decision and the results are judged to be on his head.  He gave you the captains armband.

This is where you "live"

This is the shirt you should wear with pride

These are your team mates........

These are the people that come a watch you every week, that cheer your every move, little children that idolise you, even though you played for the enemy, you are, sorry were one of us.

This is my partner Ian, a Newcastle supporter from a child, through thick and thin.  He watches City with me, gets very passionate about City - as you can see.

This is the future of our club....

This may be the future of our club - Daniel Alves de Silva.....

GET LOST CARLOS

We have reached the summit..... well sort of

I wonder what Roberto is saying to Avram????  Maybe..... "Chris Hughton will have your job next week"!

Man City have now reached the summit of the Premiership.... well done to all, especially Roberto Mancini who brings a little bit of Italiano to rainy, cold Manchester.

Technology

Since starting my blog, I have become less of a technophobe than I was previously.  In the beginning I didn't even know how to convert a photo on my camera to my blog!!!

Just to share with you, now I very rarely take photo's on my camera and now nearly always take them on my Blackberry.  Blackberry?  Yes, Blackberry - you heard it right.  I now take the photo on the camera, email it to my relevant email account and convert it to the laptop!!!!  Wow, that is such a thing for me.  I even get all my emails on my phone..... I am at last self sufficient.

MIKE THE CLOWN, MAYBE OR MAYBE NOT?

Depending on your opinion about whether Mike Ashley (owner of Newcastle United Football Club) had good grounds to sack Chris Hughton - the Manager who probably saved Newcastle from the double dip or relegation two seasons on the bounce - will now form part of your opinion as to whether he did the right thing.  You might care or you might not.  Personally I don't really care who manages Newcastle, but I do care that a man who comes over as well rounded, kind, compassionate to players who have problems etc. has ended up without a job...

Mr Ashley has said that he wants a Manager with more experience.....  watch this space.

I love this picture.  I have reproduced it from my lovely daughters blog.  It is well worth a read at http://www.amezzeray.com/.

WELL ITS BEEN A WHILE

I haven't blogged in ages.  I have carried on reading the blogs I follow but to be honest have not really had anything to say until now.

We are, at the moment, gripped into a cold spell of weather in the UK.  Look at my back garden.....

All the lovely birds that we enjoy in our garden have had to fend for themselves a little more and have found finding food very difficult.  They have needed a little help.

On the inside we are all gearing up for Christmas.  Our little one is three this year so she fully understands the meaning of Christmas....... presents, presents, presents, food, chocolate.

As far as I am concerned, I am busy with the girls, putting decorations up, dressing the tree and generally making the house look lovely for christmas.  I am also having success in rearing another round of flowers on my orchids.  They are lovely.

this one is a particular favourite of mine, simply beautiful.

My little one decided that as it was cold outside she would wear her hat all day... literally, even in front of a lovely warm glowing fire, she also decided she would wear her dolls bib, perhaps she is trying to tell me she in hungry!

UNITITLED

Not really sure where to start with this one..... it's been ages since I last posted and I must must get back into the habit of updating, finding interesting things to talk about etc.... my eldest daughter puts me to shame, visit her blog at http://www.amezzeray.com/ and see her fantastic posts there.

I suppose over the past few weeks life has been taken over by politics!!!! a funny thing to say I suppose but living in the UK at the moment means a lot of changes.  The current ConDem Government seem to blame all lifes ills on the previous government, even though globally, life is tough.  Reading the Internet, looking at the papers and listening to the media makes one feel "shaky" about the future of this wonderful country.  My daughter at University, will she get a job after her studies?

Anyhow, back to my life at home with the children.  Ian is away at the moment, in Turkey, with work.  He went today.  Our little one does not understand why he is not around at bedtime (he does bathing and bedtime story every night so she is a very spoilt little girl, having daddy to herself all the time).  She seems excited that we are going "bed" and "shoe" shopping tomorrow!

MY ORCHIDS

They are doing wonderfully.  The one pictured below was heading for the compost heap!  We gave it one last go, pruned it back and look...... it has more flowers on it than it did originally.

It was also my little girls birthday, she reached the grand old age of 9!!!!  She enjoyed a trip to the bowling and a meal with friends then the day after we had a family party.  She had a great time......

My big birthday girl in her special outfit from Grandma and Grandad.....

AN UPDATE

I have been working on several knitting projects so have not had time to blog..... (excuses)

A friend of mine has had a delicious little boy and I have been knitting him some full length pants (photos to follow) and a relative of Ian's is having a little girl any day so I have been knitting for her too.

It has been a busy couple of weeks media wise and there are lots going on in the world.... a snapshot,

Nick and Dave are gearing up for a backlash from the Unions over their impending spending cuts.  Oh dear, what a depressing place to live at the moment.

The Pope's visit.  Not sure whether I agree with the Pope having a "State" visit.  This visit was arranged by the former Goverment - reasons not given - and honoured by our current Government - cause they were too scared to put a stop to it, even though they are making cuts left, right and centre, they deem it ok to spend an enormous amount of money on this visit.  This is a visit to a country where the majority of the people ARE NOT catholic!!!  Conclusion: I must be a Nazi because I don't believe in the drivel that the Pope comes out with about condoms, HIV, pornography, women not being priests oh and his opinion about priests who abuse children..... move them on to abuse even more children. (end of rant)

The coffee machine that blew up in a Sainsbury store south of the Watford Gap - this was strange, perhaps someone thought the Pope was having a latte in the cafe - no, all joking apart, I visited Costa Coffee, as I usually do on a Saturday morning, to find myself taking a back step when the coffee was being made.

Oh and Rooney - well poor old Colleen, she has forgiven him - silly moo moo.

a nurse or doctor maybe?

my youngest daughter has decided that she loves to dress up with bandages!!!!! yes, she is funny..... its a bandaged head today!!!!!

another year passes.....

It was my Birthday last weekend and my family ensured that I had a lovely one.  It was a Birthday that lasted the whole weekend!!!!!  I thank everyone for their lovely cards and precious gifts......  here goes......

a great signed photo..... goal against Arsenal last season

sorry about the ears.... but lovely earrings.....

MY BABY'S THINGS......

my baby is no longer a baby..... i will be, reluctantly, putting some of her things on ebay.  If anyone is interested you can email me on angela.dean@hotmail.com

A novel idea .........

...... I have had an idea to write a novel in the form of a "blog".  I do not have any subject material yet but have a few ideas...... maybe a chapter a week......

NOT BEING VERY PATIENT....

As I was leaving the house today the postman handed me a package.  I took it, put it in the house and went about my business.

When I came back I could not help myself opening it.... it is my birthday next week and although I knew it was a birthday present from my daughter I had to have a peek....

A beautiful Willow figure called "Birthday Girl".

There is another present along with a card that I will open on my actual birthday.

Thank you Amy. xxxx

Lunch at Compo's

Today we took the smaller children to visit Holmfirth, the town where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed.  I had never been before even though it is only a 45 minute drive from home.  It was a lovely day all round, the weather was good, the children were well behaved (well sort of) and we had a lovely lunch at Compo's cafe - which is a ten minute walk out of town http://www.compos-cafe.com/

We then drove back a scenic route which was lovely.  We looked at the villages we were travelling through and listened to the girls giggling in the back of the car.

We then went home via Costa Coffee, one of our favourite haunts.  We go for coffee at Costa every Saturday morning, chat, read the paper, do some emails (more on that one later) and watch the girls enjoying themselves.  Look at these.......

sharing a red berry cooler .........

being a pirate, with the rolled up till receipt as telescope......

being a pirate with a rolled up piece of paper from my shopping list book - we did not have two till receipts, this nearly caused full scale war......

I'm actually very proud of these pictures.  They were took on my new telephone, a blackberry.  I am definately a technophobe.  I have had a basic Sony phone for the past two years.  This was due for upgrade this week so I went for the new Blackberry, the small girly one I suppose.  I have set up my emails, put pictures in my contacts so when the phone rings a little picture of the caller appears.  I have done so much on this phone, I am in love with it.  It is now my little diary, address book, reminder..... it is wonderful.  Thank you Ian for convincing me to get one..... I'm not scared at all.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Today we took the children to the City of Manchester Stadium to introduce them (brainwash) to the new players.  We watched an open training session (http://www.mcfc.co.uk/) which formed part of the Open Day (annual).

According to the web site, Cadbury were playing a huge part at this fun day (yes we thought, free chocolate for us all).  Well all we could see was a poster advertising a Curly Wurly.  There was about 8500 people in attendance, four face painters and a handful of burger/hotdog sellers.  I thought I would treat the children to a hot dog - think again me thinks, when I found out they were £4.00 each, I asked the seller to cut two in half.  The training session was good, but the shop was full and the tills rolling as it was the first day the new home strip was on sale.....

I would like to think that City were thinking about bringing the blue community together for a fun day, but hey....... cynical thoughts took over and well, I could not possibly comment.

Manu..... we love you.......     BUT

..............one of these little curly wurly's would have been good..... I am not a greedy girl.

DIFFERENT EMOTIONS

This weekend just gone, we took the little ones and they helped (sort of) move my eldest daughter out of her flat and into a house - she is in her final year at University and decided she wanted to move in with her good friends for her last year.

My word.....  she has so many possessions...... lots and lots of well, rubbish I suppose.  We finally moved all her things.  We settled down and had a lovely meal with her (well the service was rubbish but the meal was ok).  We had a lovely chat and a good laugh.

We drove Amy back to her house and we returned to the Premier Inn with the children.  Well, what a terrible nights sleep.  We could not open the window due to the bugs, flies and all sorts of things that kept coming in.  So we put the fan on in the room.  Our baby eventually went to sleep after several in's and out's of the bed.....  We must have had about four hours sleep, the children slept all night!!!!

The following day we all had a lovely day, lunch, then we returned home.

We were away just over 24 hours.

Today, the fish died.  My daughter (8) was very upset as it was her fish, Linda.

IVE GOT ONE....

....... A small tomato off my tomato plant...... watch this space for visual inspection.

MY LAST POLITICAL POST.....

...... after my last post I decided that I would like to start a new blog, giving my political views and my take on what is going on in Westminster.  Ian has decided to co-write this blog with me, so please visit http://www.condemnation2010.blogspot.com/.

I'm sorry.... so very sorry

It is never easy to tell someone that they are being cheated on.... never easy.  In fact it takes a very brave person (me) to be truthful and honest.  Many people just sit on by and let it all happen, turn a blind eye... well not me.  David, you are out of the way in America, and most deceptions are carried out when your partner is away, especially a long way away, I mean, it's not as if you are going to walk through the door at a minutes' notice....

David, Nick is cheating on you.... (there I said it). It is out in the open.  He said that the Iraq war was illegal, although you supported the invasion.  He also told the others (the house of commons) that the Yarlwood detention centre was closing, yes, closing. Wrong again.

Now, if you don't want to say anything, just watch carefully, watch your back and see how it goes, then thats your decision.  You could check his mobile, follow him, see where he goes, that sort of thing......  Maybe you can let me know what happens.  Just take care of yourself and watch your back,  oh and tell George to be careful, that Danny guy needs watching.  Love Ang xxxxx (your loyal friend)

WHAT I LIKE

Apart from the obvious (my family and friends of course)..... what do I like......

Well, most of you will know I like craft and knitting, Man City, following current affairs and the mess that Nick and Dave are getting this country in (where is Nick these days..... any sightings of Nick, please report here)..... and

gladioli, don't you just love the majestic long stalk that starts flowering from the bottom to the top.......

reading trashy mags, or having the time to read them.  I nipped in Marks and Spencer for something for tea and ended up buying three!!!! I'm writing this post now, watching a film out of one eye so I don't really know when I will have time to read these.......

...... and whilst we are enjoying this spell of warm sultry weather - although it has been raining quite a lot today - thinking about the very cold winter that we endured...... at least some of us enjoyed it.....

THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF BEING TWO

Today, my toddler little girl ditched her high chair and took on the role of eating at the dining table with the rest of us on an "in the night garden" booster seat..... well, we took her out, bought the seat, came home, folded the current high chair, took it to the garage.... and ..... she would not entertain sitting in the new chair.  Tears, tantrums, more tears, stamping of the feet (you know the drill), until the sticker book came out, the animal mat for the table and the coloured pencils.  She sat there for an hour colouring nicely, then ate her tea with very little difficulty.  A hit, i'd say.

and dolly sat at the table too...
