MY LAST POLITICAL POST.....

...... after my last post I decided that I would like to start a new blog, giving my political views and my take on what is going on in Westminster.  Ian has decided to co-write this blog with me, so please visit http://www.condemnation2010.blogspot.com/.

I'm sorry.... so very sorry

It is never easy to tell someone that they are being cheated on.... never easy.  In fact it takes a very brave person (me) to be truthful and honest.  Many people just sit on by and let it all happen, turn a blind eye... well not me.  David, you are out of the way in America, and most deceptions are carried out when your partner is away, especially a long way away, I mean, it's not as if you are going to walk through the door at a minutes' notice....

David, Nick is cheating on you.... (there I said it). It is out in the open.  He said that the Iraq war was illegal, although you supported the invasion.  He also told the others (the house of commons) that the Yarlwood detention centre was closing, yes, closing. Wrong again.

Now, if you don't want to say anything, just watch carefully, watch your back and see how it goes, then thats your decision.  You could check his mobile, follow him, see where he goes, that sort of thing......  Maybe you can let me know what happens.  Just take care of yourself and watch your back,  oh and tell George to be careful, that Danny guy needs watching.  Love Ang xxxxx (your loyal friend)

WHAT I LIKE

Apart from the obvious (my family and friends of course)..... what do I like......

Well, most of you will know I like craft and knitting, Man City, following current affairs and the mess that Nick and Dave are getting this country in (where is Nick these days..... any sightings of Nick, please report here)..... and

gladioli, don't you just love the majestic long stalk that starts flowering from the bottom to the top.......

reading trashy mags, or having the time to read them.  I nipped in Marks and Spencer for something for tea and ended up buying three!!!! I'm writing this post now, watching a film out of one eye so I don't really know when I will have time to read these.......

...... and whilst we are enjoying this spell of warm sultry weather - although it has been raining quite a lot today - thinking about the very cold winter that we endured...... at least some of us enjoyed it.....

THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF BEING TWO

Today, my toddler little girl ditched her high chair and took on the role of eating at the dining table with the rest of us on an "in the night garden" booster seat..... well, we took her out, bought the seat, came home, folded the current high chair, took it to the garage.... and ..... she would not entertain sitting in the new chair.  Tears, tantrums, more tears, stamping of the feet (you know the drill), until the sticker book came out, the animal mat for the table and the coloured pencils.  She sat there for an hour colouring nicely, then ate her tea with very little difficulty.  A hit, i'd say.

and dolly sat at the table too...

LAST WEEK

Last week we spent a few days with Grandma and Grandad in Suffolk.  After such a good spell of weather it was somewhat cooler that the warm climate that East Anglia boasts (well most of the time).  We visited the seaside on Friday where we ate lovely fish and chips - the type you only get at the seaside - and had a brisk walk along the sea.  It was very warm considering there was probably a gale force wind blowing!!!!  I'm really glad my little one is only two and has no concept of worrying whether she is having a bad hair day.....

OUR DAY OUT

Today we went to Little Moreton Hall, which is a National Trust property south of Congleton, Cheshire.  We chose a lovely day for a family day out, very warm with a nice cooling breeze.  Oh what an interesting property.

Look at the uneven beams running from left to right.  I have only even seen one property like this and that is in the pretty little village of Lavenham in Suffolk.

The view from the quad.  The house had stone floors and you could only imagine how cold it would have been in the winter months.

It was "appreciation of herbs in Tudor time" weekend.  The Tudors used herbs, obviously like we do, but the very fragrant ones were put with flowers, made into a bouquet and attached to clothing or carried in pockets.  The Tudors thought that bad smells meant disease, thus the need to smell fragrant.

making a lavender bag.......

watching a lavender bag being made......

with our fragrant posy

the neatly cut maze..... and finally,

the lovely tame ducks who insisted on sitting with us whilst the children ate their ice cream, then pecked my big toe...... that is when we left!!!!

Thank you for a lovely day out.  The staff, from the guy on the car park to the ladies making all the lovely crafts with the children were excellent.

THE PAST AND THE PRESENT

One of the most important people in my life died when I was 15, in 1982.  My nan, the person who, now I realise, tried to fill a gap in my life that was there due to poor poor parenting.  My brother, 4 and a half years younger that me was the pride and joy of my mother.  When he was born I was shipped off to my nans for nearly a month so my mother could enjoy her baby.  Nice.  Thank god for my nan.  She would let me stay up late at night and as as got older I would stay with her at weekends, from Friday after school to Sunday evening.  We would have our tea watching the tv then settle down on a Friday night and watch Armchair Thriller.  Then we would get the bus on a Saturday morning to Altrincham and do some shopping.  My nan loved the nice things in life and would like to shop at Rackhams (House of Fraser) where she would spend ages in the Eastex section, rooting out all the lovely tweed jackets and skirts.

When I was 13, I showed lots of interest in the girly things like nice clothes and typing of course.  As I was so interested, she bought me a typewriter....  apart from my loved ones, one of my most prized posessions and something that I have never thought of throwing out, giving to the local church fair or school fair.  No, its travelled with me through my adult life..... it is 30 years old.  It cost my nan £49.00 which I conclude was a lot of money in 1979.  Thanks nan..... for everything.

Whilst I was taking the pictures of my typewriter and composing this post, the smallest member of my family was looking on with a very intersting look.  Not only at the typewriter but also at the camera.  When we visit grandma and grandad they always take lots of photo's of her so she loves the camera, as you can see.

and.... last but at no means least...... my latest orchid that is now displaying its second bloom of flowers.  This orchid was cut right down to the leaves and for a while did not look like it was going to bloom.  Perseverance and good light from the kitchen window achieved this.....
