Nick Nick Nick.....

(I have time on my hands, the hoover is plugged in but no movement as yet, the washing is all done, half in the tumble and half on the lazy susan.  My big girls are off to college and school and my little angel is travelling home with daddy after a weekend with grandma and grandad)

I am listening to Nicky Campbell's breakfast phone in on Radio Five Live, listening to an important phone in with Nick Griffin (BNP).  The BNP do not have any policies on Treasury issues etc.  NG was asked by a caller his policies on Education and all he could come up with was that the BNP would bring back Christian only assemblies in school!  This guy is completely scary.  We need to control immigration in this country as do every country.  However,  there are ways and means to do this.  I consider myself to be a stay at home mummy with a fairly comfortable life.  Partner who works to enable me to enjoy bringing up my children.  We make sacrifices for me to stay at home, as my partner travels as part of his job.  This earns him a decent salary.  We love a good bargain in the shops, eat well, have a nice car and holidays.  There will be similar mummy's to me, all over the country.  Some will be of different origin to me but will want the same things and to achieve the same things in life.  Those who are of different origin - DONT BE SCARED BY NG - HE FOOLS NO-ONE. When I listen to him I feel overwhelmed by his attitude.  He considers all immigrants, even third generation etc., to be a risk to my life.  Come on.  I'm ok. We are ok.  You get out of life what you put in. Listen to my third Nick of the day..... Nick Clegg.

Pants

Lets get Crafty

Over the past few weeks I have been working on some new projects for two friends who are currently pregnant.  Both of these patterns are knitted in garter stitch, very simple, however, as they are so simple mistakes can be picked up very easily.

Mothers and daughters..... oh, and Nick.......

I've just had a lovely conversation with my daughter (eldest, currently at University).  She is currently watching a re run of the Election debate shown last week.  She agrees with me that Nick Clegg comes out of proceedings the best and most importantly is very sexy when he is being serious - obviously every woman over the age of 18 and up to the age, of well, mental ability, needs to vote for Nick.  Come on girls, lets have a bit of eye candy to look at every Wednesday, getting passionate over the despatch box.....

MY LOVE OF WILLOW....

I love willow figures.  A family member gave me a single figure for a birthday a couple of years ago and since then I have been a "willow watcher".  Ian and I purchased this one over the Easter Holiday.  What a lovely image of parents with their child.

WELL DONE TO MY LOVELY DAUGHTER........

....who at eight shows the skills for crafting that I love.  Well done my darling.  The picture is one inspired and purchased when we visited Martin Mere over the Easter Holiday.

Easter Visit

During the Easter Holiday we visited Martin Mere Bird Sanctuary in Lancashire.  Well this place in completely fascinating.  If you had no interest in birds before visiting, this lights a spark for our feathered friends.  My two little girls loved it.  A (our youngest) is fearless.  She chases the birds all over the place.  D also loved the sanctuary so much we are visiting again tomorrow.  If you are interested in birds from all over the world, please visit - you will not be disappointed.

SUPER SUNDAY

Happy Easter Sunday - whatever you are doing.  Well, this is a super Super Sunday.  This week has been excellent for the Newcastle/Man City supporters in my household.  Last Monday both City and Newcastle won without conceding a goal.  Then Man United lost in Europe - shame.  Yesterday, Man United lost again, this time at home to Chelsea.  Newcastle won, then City fired 6 past a terrible Burnley side.  The best Burnley move was a woeful attempt by the groundsmen not to fork the pitch at half time, thinking that if they failed to drain all the surface water away the match would be abandoned with City five up.  Shame that didn't work either.

I'M BACK

Well, it's a massive two weeks since my last post.  I have been really busy.  Ian has been away from home with work.  While he was away I went to visit his parents for a few days - to celebrate Grandma's birthday (I won't tell you which one!!!)  As I arrived home, so did Ian!  The last week has been really hectic.  First week of the Easter Holidays for the children.  We went to visit my eldest daughter who is away at University.  She declined to visit over the Easter Holidays as she has "studenty" things to do (no, not assignments and organising her flat, alas, I am talking about drinking and sleeping - oh what it is to be young and carefree).  We bought her a bag of shopping and gave her the obligatory £20 to keep her going - for at least one more day!  It's Good Friday today and we have spent the day inside.  Chasing a two year old around all day can be a little draining so we are now eagerly awaiting the start of the Masterchef round at 730.  Come on Stacie!!!  The good down to earth geordie lass!!!  Come on Newcastle - lets get promoted this weekend and last but not at all least - City, do me a favour and let me enjoy watching you tomorrow.... NOTE:  I will be working on a knitting project this weekend which I will share with you during next week.  This is a very special project for a special friend.

HAPPY EASTER
