COME ON.......

You know you are getting desperate when you start cheering on for a Scot, sorry a British sportsman....  Come on Andy, give us all something to shout about.

thinking time for me...

I'm sat here in a quiet room, watching tennis and contemplating what is going to happen a mere 24 hours from now.  Are we going to be full of joy at a brilliant England victory, or are we going to have to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves down and concede that we didn't play at all well and the Germans beat us again.  Oh what a strange thought to be able to see into the future.  Oh how boring and life zapping that would be.  All the great things in life that happen, all the bad things in life that happen.  But life would not be life without the highs and the lows and however much we would all like to be able to see a little teeny weeny bit into the future.... oh how that would spoil the good times.  COME ON GHANA, COME ON ANDY MURRAY, COME ON YOU MIGHTY ENGLAND.......

........ and finally

During the half time of the Argentina match, I said to my parter Ian that I thought my blog was a fittle fluffy, compared to the sometimes serious and clever blog belonging to my daughter Amy.

He said "your blog is the cutting edge of satire"  Do you think he is taking the micky out of me?

WELL DONE....... to

Rafael Nadal - for showing us how to play tennis and how to win with pride

Andy Murray - for giving us a masterclass in how to play, being gracious in winning and not dissing the Queen or the England football team

The French Football team - for leaving this brilliant World Cup and going home in disgrace

David Cameron - for hiding behind George Osborne as he delivered the Budget

Nick Clegg - for having the audacity to turn up in the Commons today and be able to look people in the face

My youngest daughter - for behaving herself whilst going around the supermarket

HELLO MR TUMBLE

"hello everyone, I am Mr Tumble.  I was on the television at the same time George Osborne was delivering his first budget.  I made much more sense teaching my little subjects sign language.  I don't upset people, go back on promises and make people worry about their futures".

What is even more upsetting/worrying/annoying (you get the drift) is not Georgey boy, but the wolf in sheeps clothing, Nick Clegg!!!!!  I consider myself to be a good judge of character but hey, he is clever.  He took us all in.  All us good souls who thought that voting Liberal Democrat would keep the Tories out. All us nice clean living people who thought that Nick was telling us the truth.  Only for him to get into bed with a bunch of rich boys who don't care about our children, us, our pensioners.  All those promises you gave us.  SHAME ON YOU NICK.

My Orchid

Gosh, look how my orchid is doing.  This orchid was bought for me for Mothers Day 2009.  It arrived by delivery driver and when I opened the box the orchid was out of its pot and upside down.  I thought it would not survive the day.  How lovely.

A NEW WEEK

Pebble Vest in "boys" colours....... matched with a little white suit.

Well a new week is upon us, children back at school and work beckons.  A friends daughter is ten days overdue with her second baby.  She doesn't know what she is having so I have made a boy's colour pebble vest and I am now working on a girly tank top!!!!

Yesterday was fathers day (as you will have seen in yesterdays post) and although it was a day to celebrate daddy, daddy still found time to buy me some lovely flowers.....  this small vase made a lovely table arrangement for our special meal.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY

In the UK, it is fathers day today.  We have had a lovely day at home, chilling out and eating nice food - and chasing our little two year old round next doors lovely manicured garden.

The usual gifts were given, socks, little teddy and scent... which came with the comment "oh, I must smell then!!!!"

Now it is back to the football, with Brazil playing the Ivory Coast.  I now have an eight year old moaning that she has lost her seat on the sofa to someone who thinks he can do what he likes.... cause its fathers day!!!!!  Happy Fathers day Ian, your third one as a daddy.... we love you. x

                                                                THE STUDENT....

THE TEACHER, THE FANTASTIC SPORTSMAN

Come on Eng...er...land.....

Well the World Cup is upon us again.  What a great spectacle and the South Africans appear to be putting on a good show, with some excellent stadia and fantastic playing surfaces.

As a Man City fan, we have lots of players playing at the World Cup.  Lots of pundits on the TV too!!!!It's great seeing all our "non english" players playing for their countries.  I was even cheering the brilliant Carlos Tevez and Argentina on at the weekend.  The Falklands were all but a very distant memory....

We have the golf next weekend and Wimbledon starting soon.  I will be cheering Andy Murray on of course, but would love to see Rafa Nadal win.  He is a great sportsman, doesn't complain on court and is courteous to the fans who pay to see this great player.  Listen Andy..... model yourself on Rafa and even if you are Scottish, I will cheer you on....

BLACK SHEEP BARN

Wow, wow, wow, what a great wool "barn".  It is well worth a visit if you live nearby.  There is a much greater choice in the barn than on their internet site.  Visit their web site and get direction to the barn.

Hot, hot, hot (says Ben and Small)!!!!!!

At the moment the north west of England is basking in lovely weather.  We are off to visit our fave bird sanctuary in the next couple of days.  I think, if you are interested in our feathered friends of course, you need to visit on a regular basis to see the change in the lives of the birds that are bred at the sanctuary.

Playing the waiting game

Why didn't the clever Fabio get all 30 players, who are in contention for a World Cup place, in the same room and tell them all at the same time whether they were on the plane or staying at home?  Would this have been too easy for the all too complicated Football Association?  Watch this space.....  Oh and contrary to reports Theo Wallcott is not dead...... he may have been left out of the World Cup squad..... that is all!!!!!!
