A novel idea .........
...... I have had an idea to write a novel in the form of a "blog". I do not have any subject material yet but have a few ideas...... maybe a chapter a week......
NOT BEING VERY PATIENT....
When I came back I could not help myself opening it.... it is my birthday next week and although I knew it was a birthday present from my daughter I had to have a peek....
A beautiful Willow figure called "Birthday Girl".
There is another present along with a card that I will open on my actual birthday.
Thank you Amy. xxxx
Lunch at Compo's
Today we took the smaller children to visit Holmfirth, the town where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed. I had never been before even though it is only a 45 minute drive from home. It was a lovely day all round, the weather was good, the children were well behaved (well sort of) and we had a lovely lunch at Compo's cafe - which is a ten minute walk out of town http://www.compos-cafe.com/.
We then drove back a scenic route which was lovely. We looked at the villages we were travelling through and listened to the girls giggling in the back of the car.
We then went home via Costa Coffee, one of our favourite haunts. We go for coffee at Costa every Saturday morning, chat, read the paper, do some emails (more on that one later) and watch the girls enjoying themselves. Look at these.......
sharing a red berry cooler .........
being a pirate, with the rolled up till receipt as telescope......
being a pirate with a rolled up piece of paper from my shopping list book - we did not have two till receipts, this nearly caused full scale war......
I'm actually very proud of these pictures. They were took on my new telephone, a blackberry. I am definately a technophobe. I have had a basic Sony phone for the past two years. This was due for upgrade this week so I went for the new Blackberry, the small girly one I suppose. I have set up my emails, put pictures in my contacts so when the phone rings a little picture of the caller appears. I have done so much on this phone, I am in love with it. It is now my little diary, address book, reminder..... it is wonderful. Thank you Ian for convincing me to get one..... I'm not scared at all.

NEW BEGINNINGS
Today we took the children to the City of Manchester Stadium to introduce them (brainwash) to the new players. We watched an open training session (http://www.mcfc.co.uk/) which formed part of the Open Day (annual).
According to the web site, Cadbury were playing a huge part at this fun day (yes we thought, free chocolate for us all). Well all we could see was a poster advertising a Curly Wurly. There was about 8500 people in attendance, four face painters and a handful of burger/hotdog sellers. I thought I would treat the children to a hot dog - think again me thinks, when I found out they were £4.00 each, I asked the seller to cut two in half. The training session was good, but the shop was full and the tills rolling as it was the first day the new home strip was on sale.....
I would like to think that City were thinking about bringing the blue community together for a fun day, but hey....... cynical thoughts took over and well, I could not possibly comment.

DIFFERENT EMOTIONS
This weekend just gone, we took the little ones and they helped (sort of) move my eldest daughter out of her flat and into a house - she is in her final year at University and decided she wanted to move in with her good friends for her last year.
My word..... she has so many possessions...... lots and lots of well, rubbish I suppose. We finally moved all her things. We settled down and had a lovely meal with her (well the service was rubbish but the meal was ok). We had a lovely chat and a good laugh.
We drove Amy back to her house and we returned to the Premier Inn with the children. Well, what a terrible nights sleep. We could not open the window due to the bugs, flies and all sorts of things that kept coming in. So we put the fan on in the room. Our baby eventually went to sleep after several in's and out's of the bed..... We must have had about four hours sleep, the children slept all night!!!!
The following day we all had a lovely day, lunch, then we returned home.
We were away just over 24 hours.
Today, the fish died. My daughter (8) was very upset as it was her fish, Linda.
